Video: Brand new Lurssen Superyacht 'Project SHU' heading for sea trials

Currently one of the world’s largest in-build projects, 146m/479ft superyacht 'Project SHU' from Lurssen was filmed leaving for her highly anticipated sea trials earlier this week.

Capturing her approach before taking an extended view of her port side, the newest video of Lurssen superyacht Project SHU also takes a close look at her aft section as she makes a passage for her sea trials.

Entering this phase of her development, it has been suggested that a delivery date sometime later this year could well be possible.

A highly secretive project, very little information has been confirmed about the five-deck motor yacht. Indeed, even the current name of ‘Project SHU’ was created by the yachting community, with the German shipyard remaining highly discreet throughout her build phase.

As the below video shot in February illustrates, this mysterious beauty boasts some highly impressive proportions and a vast number of floor to ceiling windows to ensure she’s bathed in natural light throughout.

What is known about Project SHU, however, is that she features a helipad on the bow as well as another one further towards the aft.

Whilst her interior and exterior designers have not been formally announced, there are certain exterior elements which share similarities with the Espen Oeino-styled 134m/439ft motor yacht SERENE and the 140m/459ft luxury yacht ‘Ocean Victory’.

Showcasing her unique and harmonious styling, the latest video of superyacht SHU reveals that Lurssen has given life to another icon

The swim platform which can be observed in both of the videos is also worthy of note, with its broad scale certain to make embarking and disembarking a total joy for the owner.

As more information and images of Project SHU become available, YachtCharterFleet will be sure to keep readers fully updated.
