U-Boat Worx to Launch Super Yacht Sub 3 at 2015 Monaco Yacht Show

Innovators in building submersibles to accompany a luxury yacht charter experience, U-Boat Worx are preparing to launch their latest build, the 'Super Yacht Sub 3' at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show.

The newest submersible from the Dutch builder U-boat Worx will be able to carry up to 3 people for underwater exploration to depths of up to 300 metres. Available in the 100m, 200m or 300m edition, the upgradable vessel is described as 'ultra-lightweight' and 'ultra-compact' by the company.

The DNV-GL- classified Superyacht Sub 3 will be equipped with air conditioning and a Bluetooth stereo, as well as luxurious leather seating to ensure the utmost comfort for guests. Like other models from previous ranges, passengers can enjoy the underwater marine life through surrounding glass housing in a vessel which is designed to be the perfect accompaniment to superyachts.

It will also boast a state-of-the-art 'Freeboard Extender' system to allow occupants to open its hatch at the surface, even during rough waves.

Able to travel in all conditions, the submersible will be powered by a set of powerful thrusters.

Submarines such as this one are becoming increasingly sought after commodities for superyacht charterers, with luxury yachts including 134m/439ft megayacht SERENE set to soon feature one in their tender garage.

Commenting on the new submersible, U-Boat Worx founder and Chairman Bert Houtman commented, "The Super Yacht Sub 3 is the new standard in the super yacht industry. Its compact size and relatively low weight redefine the way shipyards, naval architects and owners have looked upon submersibles.”
