The 92m Feadship 'Royal Romance' Currently Undergoing Further Sea Trials in North Sea

Expected to be delivered to her Owners next month, the Feadship motor yacht  'Royal Romance' is currently undergoing further sea trials in the North Sea today, according to her AIS transponder. Her first sea trials were conducted earlier this week on Tuesday 17 March.

At 92.5m/303ft, motor yacht 'Royal Romance' (Feadship Hull 1005) will be the second largest yacht built by De Vries in their at Makkum shipyard in Holland, behind the award-winning 99m superyacht Madame Gu - delivered to her Owner in 2013.

As shown above, Royal Romance showcases the elegant exterior styling of De Voogt Naval Architects. She features a large beach club for guests to enjoy, amongst her expansive deck areas.

In line with Feadship's client confidentiality policy, there has been no official word on the interior design of the M/Y Royal Romance, however, according to industry sources, the London-based studio Seymour Diamond has created an 'opulent' interior of the highest quality on board.

According to Marine Traffic, at 11:47am this morning she was underway in the North Sea heading 227° at 18.4 knots - a very respectable speed for a superyacht of her size. Her official performance figures are yet to be released by the Dutch shipyard, however - powered by her twin MTU 3,004hp engines - it was recorded that she reached a maximum speed of around 20 knots on her last outing on Tuesday.

The photo above, taken at night after her first sea trials, clearly shows a large area on her bow which can be used as a helipad. It is not yet known whether she has a helicopter hanger convertible into a squash court, like sistership Madame Gu.

What is known however, is that she possesses an huge swimming pool located aft on the main deck, which will be the largest water feature ever installed on a Feadship superyacht. According to the Feadship Fanclub, "The yacht features a pool, 12m long, 4m wide and 1.4m deep, which can be emptied via huge scuppers in just 3 minutes. The new owner can put on a light show behind the cascading water at the rear of the boat where the pool flows down over a transom partially made of LED glass."

It is not known at this time whether motor yacht Royal Romance will join the luxury yacht charter fleet following completion, check back to YachtCharterFleet for the latest news. In the meantime, take the time to browse all Feadship yachts for charter to compare vessels.
