Oceanco's 85-metre Sailing Yacht AQUIJO Launched

Oceanco & Vitters have announced the launch of the 85m/279ft sailing yacht AQUIJO (Y711), the first sailing yacht every built by the Dutch shipyard.

The official launch of aluminium ketch AQUIJO (project name P85) signals a new era for the shipyard, renowned for building large, well-appointed custom power yachts over 80 metres, such as the 2007-build multi-award winning 81m/267ft superyacht 'Alfa Nero.'

Awaiting the final stages of construction, including the attachment of masts and rigging, she is the result of Oceanco and Vitters pooling their industry expertise in close cooperation the Owner and their representatives - with Vitters offering specialist knowledge on the construction of high-performance sailing yachts.

With Oceanco and Vitters at the helm, AQUIJO will be one of the most state-of-the-art sailing yachts on the water on her delivery, as well as becoming the 5th largest sailing yacht in the world, following 90m/295ft S/Y ATHENA and 88m/289ft 'Maltese Falcon.'

She will boast a unique steering system designed by the Vitters team, which translates hydrodynamic forces on the underwater rudder blades straight to the fly bridge steering wheels, giving a Captain automatic feedback.

Styled by German studio Dölker + Voges indoors, she will offer well-appointed accommodation for up to 12 guests across her 4-deck layout, which seeks to blend the boundaries between exterior and interior spaces with long, clean lines.
