Lurssen Project JUPITER Name Revealed As Superyacht 'Al Lusail'

Lurssen Project JUPITER Name Revealed As Superyacht 'Al Lusail'

Launched under the name Project JUPITER back in October 2016, the much-talked about superyacht from Lurssen is believed to be named the 123m/404ft motor yacht ‘Al Lusail’.

According to her AIS systems, Lurssen superyacht project JUPITER is now being identified as superyacht Al Lusail. Whilst this reveal will come as exciting news, it should be stressed that the shipyard have not officially confirmed this new name.

Referring to a new city currently being built in Qatar, the naming of superyacht Al Lusail is surely significant in signalling her Arab affiliation.

Indeed, if the superyacht is likely to spend time in this part of the world, it makes sense that, due to the humidity, she has a highly voluminous interior and does not come with vast exterior spaces.

Easily identified by the splashes of blue which line her superstructure- and which contrast beautifully with her white hull- the large motor yacht has many unusual features which are sure to enhance the experience for her owner.

With the latest images providing a more intimate look at her foredeck, it is essential to note that the helipad is joined by a walkway which leads to glass sliding doors. Whilst nothing has been officially confirmed, it’s possible that this walkway could lead to a private owner’s area in the interior.

Whilst no images have been published of the interior, it’s sure to be both light and airy thanks to the natural light flow produced by the cutaways which have been added to the superstructure- a design choice which is both practical and visually impressive.

Another aspect of Al Lusail which is sure to keep everyone guessing is the door seen on the port side aft, and whether this is the entrance to a tender garage or a beach club.

Thanks to her distinctive exterior and impressive styling, Lurssen superyacht Al Lusail is one of the most unique superyachts ever built

Just as eye-grabbing and revealing as other details seen in the latest images, the cranes which have been added to the exterior of the superyacht suggest that she will come with tenders which can be easily positioned in the water when they’re needed.

Whilst the innovative exterior styling carried out by H2 Yacht Design is clear for all to see, there has so far been no details regarding the interior design known to be completed by March & White.

Having been seen out on her initial sea trials back in February, there’s every reason to expect more news concerning superyacht Al Lusail in the near future. As ever, YachtCharterFleet will be certain to keep readers fully informed.

Whilst superyacht Al Lusail is not expected to be made available for charter, be sure to check out all of the Lurssen superyachts which are open for charter.
