Superyacht 'Quantum Blue' being launched from Lurssen

Lürssen Launch Superyacht ‘Quantum Blue’

Representing the third superyacht launch from the Lürssen Shipyard in Germany this year, the eagerly awaited 104m/341ft Superyacht ‘Quantum Blue’ took to the waters on Friday.

During the course of her construction of this magnificent motor yacht, the industry rumour mill has been in overdrive,  with a number of different names and lengths, however Lürssen have now confirmed her length at 104m, this will place her amongst the largest superyachts in the world. In fact, she is currently the second largest launch this year after Fincantieri’s 140m/459ft ‘Victory’ and once delivered will be listed 27th on the world’s top 100 list and 25th in terms of custom motor yachts (excluding converted yachts).

Her name plate was covered during her launch so it remains to be seen whether she will continue to be known as motor yacht ‘Quantum Blue’. She follows the launches of two other impressive superyachts from the acclaimed builder this year, to include the 66m/216ft ‘Ester III’ (Project Green) and the 95.2m/213ft ‘Kismet’ (Project Global) which has been dubbed as one of the most exciting additions to the global charter fleet in recent years.

Both yachts were designed by Espen Oeino while ‘Quantum Blue’ boasts design from the UK-based Tim Heywood who on first impressions seems to have successfully encompassed her expansive volume with sleek, balanced lines. The no doubt stunning Interior styling was appointed to the late Alberto Pinto who’s previous interiors such as the 81m ‘Alfa Nero’ have been celebrated for their highly functional yet exceptionally luxurious results. Quantum Blue’s interior is still a closely guarded secret at the moment but we look forward to bringing more images and information as soon as it is released.

‘Quantum Blue’ is due for delivery later this year, in the meantime she will continue with her finishing touches at the shipyard. It is not yet known whether she will be made available for charter however there are several other Lürssen-built charter yachts that are.

Her name plate was covered during her launch so it remains to be seen whether she will continue to be known as ‘Quantum Blue’.
