140m Superyacht VICTORY Launched

The Easter weekend saw the launch of one of the largest and most exciting luxury yachts ever built - the magnificent 140m/459’3 superyacht VICTORY from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

Work on VICTORY began in September 2010 at the shipyard in La Spezia and was project managed from start to finish by Camper & Nicholsons International. Although not much has been revealed about the finer details of this impressive vessel, VICTORY represents the highest levels of design and engineering executed by a team of the industry’s leading experts.

Espen Oeino, who also worked on the 2011-launched Fincantieri charter yacht SERENE, was responsible for her striking design, described her as ‘a complete superyacht, there’s no doubt about it - it’s a yacht that has it all.’ And with a total of seven spacious decks which feature a comprehensive selection of facilities to include no less than six swimming pools, this is hard to argue.

Although the largest and one of the most prestigious shipyards in the Mediterranean, Fincantieri have produced just two luxury superyachts, both of which are amongst the largest in the world. Known for their fine Italian craftsmanship, they are market leaders in the cruise ships and large ferries sector and world-wide competitors in the naval market.

There’s no doubt about it - it’s a yacht that has it all.

They have now turned their attention to the construction of luxury yachts, something that Head of Fincantieri Yachts Giovanni Romano considers a growing market: ‘This mega yacht is the start of another ‘adventure’ which proves we were right to enter this area of the market, an exclusive niche where we set out to base our success both on product quality and the efficiency of our construction process.’

Photos are yet to be released but VICTORY’s interior was designed by the late Alberto Pinto who was known for his highly luxurious styling that perfectly balances classic grandeur with modern qualities. The yacht has also been built to SOLAS regulations and will certainly be one of the most advanced superyachts in the world both in terms of technology and safety, with special attention given to environmentally friendly cruising.

It is not yet known whether VICTORY will be made available for charter but if she does she will undoubtedly provide the ultimate yacht vacation experience. She will also be one of a growing number of charter yachts over 80m that have been launched over the last couple of years, including the 94m/308’ KISMET II, 88m/288’7 QUATTROELLE and the 85m/279’ SOLANDGE.
