Video: World’s Largest Sailing Yacht 'A' Undergoes Sail Test

Hoisting her mainsail for the first time this week, the recent sea test of the 143m/469ft sailing yacht A is sure to have generated even more anticipation for the new build from German shipyard Nobiskrug.

A successor to the 119m/390ft motor yacht A from Blohm + Voss, sailing yacht A bears a similarly distinctive exterior courtesy of iconic French designer Philippe Starck.

Showcasing her commanding mainsail, footage from her latest sea trials also gives a strong indication of the impressive scale of the motor assisted sailing yacht.

Taking place in the waters surrounding Strande, the trials clearly attracted the attention of those looking on, with a number of photographers keen to shoot her starboard side and aft.

Expected to be complete sometime in 2017, sailing yacht A is sure to remain firmly in the headlines in the months leading up to her delivery.

Whilst S/Y A will not be available for charter, feel free to take a look at all Nobiskrug superyachts which are available for charter.

Sure to be as iconic as her predecessor, sailing yacht A scales the heights of innovative design
