VIDEO: Recap of Cannes Yachting Festival 2015

The French Riviera was host to some of the world’s most luxurious yachts from 8 to 13 September for this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.

One of the first superyacht meetings of the season, last week the idyllic town of Cannes turned into a glittering gathering of superyachts for the annual festival - and this year did not disappoint.

With the Mediterranean sun shining this year was set to turn heads. Situated over three separate Cannes harbour sites - Vieux Port, Port Pierre Canto and Palais des Festivals - the festival featured an impressive 580 boats and luxury yachts, including 43m/140ft M/Y EMOTION and the sleek and sophisticated 39m/128ft S/Y ‘Cinderella IV’.

Ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show 2015 to take place later this month, over 50,000 visitors descended on Cannes to witness the unveiling of the latest superyachts for sale and charter, and the newest tender and toy models of all styles, shapes and sizes.

For those who were looking for a more authentic experience could take mini sea-trials for that unique ‘try before you buy’ feature. Gliding across the calm Mediterranean waters, away from the crowds of fellow festival-goers, visitors and buyers were able to appreciate the yachts optimum performance and design qualities through first-hand testing.
