Benetti Prepares for Building 100m+ Superyachts with two new sheds

SPOTTED: Benetti Prepares for Building 100m+ Superyachts

The Italian shipyard Benetti's largest charter yacht built to date may be the 70m/230ft motor yacht FREEDOM, however it is clear to see that the shipyard are planning to build vessels to rival Lürssen and Feadship's recent launches with a new shed sized for the construction of megayachts.

With over a hundred Benetti superyachts currently available for charter, the Azimut-owned shipyard has built a noteworthy reputation of delivering composite, semi-custom and custom-built motor yachts.

It now appears Benetti are looking to expand on their current capacity with two new sheds purposefully built for yachts surpassing the 100-metre mark at their yard in Livorno in Tuscany.

Both of the new sheds will be 140 metres long and 35 metres high, allowing Benetti the capacity to build megayachts to join the ranks of 102m/333ft Feadship charter yacht SYMPHONY and large Lürssen builds such as the 125m/410ft M/Y 'Golden Odyssey' and 157m/515ft M/Y OMAR (project name).
