Millennium Cup Brings Work To New Zealand

Millennium Cup Brings Work To New Zealand

Following the exciting action at the Millennium Cup this year, it has been suggested that the increasingly popular event has helped to stimulate the country’s economy.

Whilst New Zealand offers fantastic waters for charter vacations, the cost of getting vessels to this part of the world comes at a fairly significant cost. In order to make it more worthwhile, occasions such as the cup provide an added incentive for making the trip.

Once out in the country, owners are more inclined to have maintenance and other work carried out on their yachts, says Peter Busfield, the director behind the group which organises the event.

Although reluctant to name any names, Busfield did hint that one of the superyachts in attendance had provided the country with a considerable amount of work.

Not only does New Zealand’s marine industry enjoy the benefits of their discerning visitors, but hotels, restaurants, and golf courses also see an increase in trade during the later part of January.

Set to return next year, the Millennium Cup regularly brings out the very best sailing yachts both on and off the charter market.
